Why stream our game - in a nutshell

Our game is built to create meaningful conversations in the chat as well as guarantee hilarious moments when you gave your undercover identity away and died… yet again.

Every dialogue can change the investigation, every character potentially lies. Are you unsure about what to do next? Your chat certainly has a lot of opinions on that.

Our story is based on reporting by Anas Aremeyaw Anas on cocoa cultivation. He is Ghana’s most famous journalist and we’re working closely with him and a journalistic NGO to make our players feel like a real journalist speaking truth to power.

Our game is inspired by a real journalist and a real story

The story is inspired by the work and experiences of one of Ghana's most renowned journalists, bringing a real-world perspective to the investigation at the heart of the game.

After playing, you'll have the opportunity to learn more about the real story that inspired what you've just experienced.

Sometimes your chat will get you killed

Not every conversation is safe. Say the wrong thing, trust the wrong person, or make the wrong assumption—and you can die.

Which means every important dialogue in the game can become: "WAIT... CHAT??? WHAT DO WE SAY?"

And the stakes are high.

It’s easy to jump in for late-comers

Your corkboard and quest log help you keep track of what you've found so that viewers can jump in any time and be on track quickly. Maybe their fresh perspective can even solve something you have been debating about for a while.

Made with LGBTQ+ players and creators in mind

Representation matters to us. One of our founders is nonbinary and ace, and that perspective shines through in the game's characters and themes. The very artstyle is bringing Kawaii back to its roots as a visual language of protest and daring to speak up to power.

If you're an LGBTQ+ streamer, we'd love for you to bring your own perspective and experiences into the conversation around the game.

Your own interpretation matters

The dialogue isn't voiced which means there's room for your interpretation and your personality.

Solve the mystery together!

We want your chat to argue with you, theorize with you, and likely sometimes scream at you when you make the wrong choice.

Questions that will come up during your playthrough:

That's where your chat comes in to debate what to do. The game doesn't always give you an obvious answer. You might have several leads, conflicting information, or a conversation where you're not sure what the right response is.

The final game decision is yours to make

At the end of your investigation, you have to write your article. You've collected information, heard different perspectives, uncovered clues and formed your own understanding of what happened.

Now you have to decide: What information belongs in the story? What you choose affects the dialogue and environment you encounter afterward**.**

Let your chat debate on what should be included or not and guess which choices informed the world & environment you experience in the last level.

We have something to say

Beneath the investigation is a story about the conditions in cocoa and coffee cultivation and international trade.

We tell the story through metaphors, characters, environments, and minigames. We want players to interpret, question, disagree, and discuss what they're seeing.

Concerning metaphors: Cocoa and coffee become cacu; Ghana becomes Kangan, Côte Ivoire becomes Aburiria. Kangan and Aburiria, in turn, are references to African literature that your viewers can explore. And maybe having read these books adds another layer to some dialogues.
